Supporting Our Community
Fundraising is an important part of HCB's year and during the 2010-11 year we donated $7,500 to the Inspire Foundation thanks to your generosity at our events. When you dropped a coin into a bucket at Furry Friday or purchased a raffle ticket at the Lord Roberts you can be assured your money went to help young people lead happier lives.
An additional $502 was also raised for Inspire by the Oxford Hotel through their BBQs cooked by the Naked Barber on the deck of the pub during Furry Fridays. Check out the great work of Inspire at www.inspire.org.au
We also donated money to many other gay community groups – including $1,000 to Queer Screen; $500 to the Bear Men of Adelaide; $175 to the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA); as well as supporting smaller groups like the Sydney Rangers FC, Sydney Leather Pride Association (SLPA), Sydney Stingers, and Harbour City Wrestlers by allowing them to fundraise directly at our events.
