Bear Essentials 16
Bear Essentials kicks off on Saturday February 11th and runs for 3 weeks during the Sydney Mardi Gras.
We've gone with a "tongue-in-cheek" sporty theme called "It's A Whole New Ball Game" and details of all the events can be found on our festival website www.bearessentials.com.au
Our festival guide produced by the Star Observer can also be viewed online from this link: http://www.calameo.com/read/0001997956106f51dbd71 |
Harbour City Bears History Project
Harbour City Bears, with the generosity and support of the Sydney Star Observer, will soon publish a booklet documenting the history of the club.
Written by Australia's premier gay historian, Garry Wotherspoon, the booklet will be launched at a special event at the Polo Lounge on February 13th, 6.30pm.
This written history details significant events, people and achievements by our club over the last 17 years.
On the night expect old faces and great stories from the history of our great club.

Community Health & Safety (ADD DV campaign pic)
With support from ACON's Anti-Violence Project, the City of Sydney and South Eastern Sydney Local Health Network we are running a series of community health & well-being initiatives leading up to Bear Essentials 16.
Our first initiative launched in December 2011, focuses on Domestic Violence.
It can happen in any relationship, it's about power and control and can take different forms including: physical violence, psychological, forced isolation from friends/family, financial control.
Harbour City Bears is proud to foster a community of inclusiveness and mate-ship.
When it comes to domestic violence we believe we all have a role to play in looking after our mates & offering support.
